This weekend, May 17 & 18, 2014, has Wine In The Woods returning to Symphony Woods in Columbia. This year’s event has over 30 Maryland wineries in attendance, along with many gourmet food vendors and 50 craft artisans. In addition, there will be two stages featuring live bands on both days of the festival.
Wine in the Woods usually attracts over 25,000 attendees over the two days. Gates open at 10:30A for those who purchased advance tickets, with sales and wine pouring beginning at 11A. The festival closes at 6P on Saturday the 17th and at 5P on Sunday the 18th. Tickets, as well as additional information, can be found here. As part of your admission, there are four Maryland Wine Education seminars on both days to help attendees learn some more about the many different Maryland Wines. Sessions will be held on reds, whites, and dessert wines, in addition to a wine tasting 101 session.
Your friendly blogger is looking forward to attending his first Wine In The Woods this Saturday, so if you see a fellow struggling to get around with a roll-about to help with his broken ankle, please say hello! I look forward to meeting some of the blog’s readers. I am volunteering at the Big Cork Vineyards booth for the first half of Saturday. Afterwards, I look forward to checking out many of the other Maryland wineries in attendance and make arrangements to visit some of their operations and report on those here. You might just also see me enjoying an Ostrowski’s Polish Sausage or checking out some of the cheeses produced by Bowling Green Farms while I am walking (trying to, at least) around.
