The 4th annual Frederick Beer Week will take place from Friday, May 30 through Saturday, June 7, 2014 with over 30 events taking place around Frederick and Frederick County, Maryland.
Frederick Beer Week kicks off on Friday, May 30th with a Hometown Tap Takeover event at JoJo’s Restaurant & Taphouse starting at 4pm.
The sold-out Maryland Craft Beer Festival is on day 2 of Frederick Beer Week and there will be an after-party at the RoastHouse starting at 6pm on Saturday, May 31. The Roasthouse will also be hosting a number of other events including a few tap takeovers during the week and an all day recovery brunch on Sunday, June 1.
Monocacy Brewing Company will be offering tours of its brewery on both Saturdays – May 31 and June 7. In addition, they will be offering opportunities on both Fridays – May 30 and June 6 – to fill growlers with your choice of their brews.
Flying Dog Brewing will also be quite active during Frederick Beer Week with a number of events, ranging from beer tastings (including one that has their beers being paired up with speciality tacos), brunches, tap takeovers and happy hours.
The main attraction of Frederick Beer Week is the Brewfest at Stillpoint Farm, from 12 noon to 6pm on Saturday, June 7. General admission is $20 ($25 on site, if available) and includes 6 beer samples and a commemorative sampling cup. Breweries participating include: Barley and Hops, Brewer’s Alley, Flying Dog, Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm, Monocacy Brewing, DuClaw and Pub Dog. Food vendors and live music will also be on site. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
In addition to the events I have highlighted here, there are many other beer and food pairings, tap takeovers, tastings and even a scavenger hunt. My friends who have attended Frederick Beer Week in the past have raved about it and I am sure that 2014 will be the same!
